Job Description

A leading research organization in Ghana is seeking highly qualified and experienced Social/Political Scientist to consolidate and advance its flagship status as a leading policy centre in Ghana and the sub-region.

The organization is looking for a candidate who will bring significant experience in social/ political science as well as provide intellectual vision to the Governance Centre of the organization which conducts research and policy advocacy

The disciplinary focus of the Centre’s work cuts across political science, public policy, public administration and political economy. Some of the topics covered include areas: legislative reform, public sector accountability, governance of oil and gas revenue management

Remuneration:

Attractive salary commensurate with experience.

Required Skills or Experience

A Ph. D in the Social Sciences with a bias in Political Science.
At least 7 years relevant experience in policy issues, extensive knowledge of Global and Ghanaian policy issues
Extensive experience in conducting policy oriented research
A strong track record of publications
Experience using a range of quantitative and qualitative techniques to monitor and evaluate large datasets
Excellent communications skills, both verbally and in writing
Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated track record of team work Self-motivated and ability to deliver to tight deadline.
Strong client orientation skills, including the ability to work effectively with donor agencies and partners, senior government officials and , civil society representatives.
Provide intellectual leadership in research, mentor, and coach junior staff
