Treasury Manager Job Vacancy

Job Description

An opportunity has arisen to join an enthusiastic and professional team for the position of Treasury Manager.

Reports to: The Chief Finance Officer, with specific emphasis on Investments, Cash and Currency management

Job Objective: To manage the Company’s overall liquidity with the expectation of using the Treasury activity as a tool for generating profits.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Effectively identify, manage and control treasury risk
Safeguard the Company’s cash balances through effective management and control of funds
Maximize returns from the investment of the Company’s funds within the constraints and risk tolerances established by the Company’s Treasury Management Policy
Implement the provisions of the Company’s Investment Management policy, ensuring that the objectives and targets spelt therein are achieved
Assist the Chief Finance Officer in the management of the Company’s debt capacity, debt and equity structure, resource allocation and currency strategy
Liaise with Banks, non- Bank Financial Institutions and stock brokers to ensure the deepening of relationships to the Company’s benefit
Exercise oversight responsibility over cheque/cash payment system

Required Skills or Experience

Qualifications and Competencies:

University Degree (preferably in Accounting or Finance)
Membership of an accounting/finance related professional body is desirable
MBA in Finance will be an added advantage
At least 5 years post qualification experience in Treasury/Investment management in a financial institution, 2 years of which must have been in management position
Sound knowledge in Portfolio Management
Familiar with money and capital markets activities
Highly proficient in report writing and oral communication
Should be result oriented, self motivated and very meticulous
Should be very assertive and possess strong negotiation skills
Ability to conduct self in a manner which elicit trust

Required Skills or Experience

Job Description

Our client is a large internationally recognised manufacturing company in the FMCG sector and has representation in over 20 countries. They seek to add to their growing team a Management Accountant who will manage and co-ordinate activities of the department. This role is based in Accra.

Duties

Oversee treasury function
Prepare budgets and forecast future expenditure
Ensure that management accounts are prepared and group reports are accurate and delivered on time
Ensure accurate accounting entries in the appropriate records, monitor Capex procedures and Fixed Asset Ledger
Create and monitor expense report and ensuring that expenditure is within the budget
Develop key performance indicators and ensure its dissemination to the various departments and its managers
Partake in the procurement process to ensure proper coordination in all quarters
Ensure receipts and payments complies with laws of Ghana
Deal with external agencies in regards to imports and exports
Periodically check accounting records and establish procedures to ensure efficient update of records to reflect company’s state
Interface with head of finance to ensure that all transactions match cash flow requirements of the company
Liaise with appropriate agencies to ensure all tax obligations of the company are met

Required Skills or Experience

Must be a qualified Accountant
Highly analytical and able to Able to motivate and lead a small team
Must be innovative and adaptable to change
Knowledge of VAT and withholding tax systems
Working knowledge of SAP and/or HFM is an advantage

Job Description

The Australian High Commission is currently has a position vacant for a Senior Accountant.

The Duties include:

Provide high quality support to the High Commissioner and First Secretary in the administration of the High Commission, including provision of timely and accurate reporting
Ensure smooth and efficient running of the day-to-day administration activities of the High Commission, including supervision of human, financial and other resources
Oversee the financial management for the High Commission
Oversee the operations of the computerised accounts system
Oversee budget management for the High Commission
Liaise with all Australian Government agencies at the High Commission, and provide information and advice as required
Contribute to management of specific budget items
Prepare accounting returns in accordance with applicable guidelines
Monitor and maintain all property contracts/leases with reporting to First Secretary

Assist First Secretary in liaison with post's partners, including post's bank, other service providers
Manage the day-to-day operation of the High Commission's bank accounts
Supervise and train staff as required

Required Skills or Experience

The Selection Criteria include:

An accounting qualification recognised by the professional accounting body in Ghana
Five year's experience in an accounting role
Experience in using computerised financial management systems, and with Microsoft products. Knowledge of SAP would be an advantage
Experience in an organisation that operates in the global environment
Demonstrated achievement in resource management
Demonstrated experience in working in a small team of professionals, and in providing a mentoring role for junior staff
Good communication skills, including spoken, reading and written English
Good client service focus
A good team member, who is flexible and able to respond to changing priorities
Ability to work under pressure
Willingness to learn new skills
Ability to work out-of-standard-hours as required
