A reputable financial institution is looking for suitably qualified persons to fill the position of - Manager, Audit.
Job Summary:
To manage the Internal Audit to ensure it adds value to the company
To direct the planning and execution of audits to evaluate the company's internal control, risk management and governance processes
To report functionally to the Board Audit Committee and administratively to the Managing Director
Duties:
To plan, organise and carry out the internal audit function including the preparation of a strategic audit plan, scheduling and assigning work and estimating resource needs for the audit activity
Prepare and maintain an up-to-date audit manual for the internal audit unit
Plan and organise work in the department and special audits required by Management and/or the Board
Monitor and co-ordinate risk management processes and recommend effective implementation of internal control systems
Liaise with external auditors to address current or outstanding audit issues
Ensure that Audit operations conform to International Audit standards
Carry out day-to-day administration of the department
Required Skills or Experience
A good first degree in Accounting plus professional qualification in Accounting/Auditing or Finance (eg. ICA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of five years post qualification experience, three of which must have been in a management position; OR
A professional qualification in Accounting or a related field (e.g. ICA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of ten (10) years post graduate working experience, in Auditing, five (5) of which must have been in a management position;
A Master's Degree in Accounting/Finance would be an added advantage
A minimum qualification and experience in reinsurance will be an added advantage
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures
Knowledge of basic administrative and leadership practices
Skill in fraud and forgery prevention
Skill in preparing detailed reports on a timely basis
Skill in both verbal and written communication
Skill in the use of computer hardware and software
Must be innovative and possess good analytical skills

MBA in Finance will be an added advantage
At least 5 years post qualification experience in Treasury/Investment management in a financial institution, 2 years of which must have been in management position
Sound knowledge in Portfolio Management
Familiar with money and capital markets activities
Highly proficient in report writing and oral communication
Should be result oriented, self motivated and very meticulous
Should be very assertive and possess strong negotiation skills
